My Christmas List

The holidays are coming!!

With Halloween and Bonfire night out the way, whether you like it or not Christmas is only round the corner, so what better time to start getting organised. I really need to practice what I preach. SO many people that I’ve spoken to have started if not finished buying presents and all I’ve bought is cards ahhh. I do intend on going to Cheltenham this weekend though to tick of a good portion of my list (and of course have a mooch in the new John Lewis). I’d recommend at least planning what you’d like to buy particularly with Black Friday on the horizon. I know I’ll definitely be making the most of the sales.

So I guess the aim of this blog post is to 1. Give you all a little inspiration 2.Let my family know whats on my wishlist this year ha and 3. Here’s hope this will give myself a kick up the arse.

May Wishlist

And just like that it’s May. It seems like only two weeks ago that I shared my April Wishlist. However, of course the list gets longer every month so I have plenty of Spring/Summer gems (literally) to share with you; from both well known brands, and a smaller independent company that deserves to be shared far and wide.

So yes, the shopping addiction is still real!!

First stop, with holidays and weekends away fast approaching I have decided that i’d like a good quality passport cover that I can personalise; along with a matching leather luggage label, both from the rather lovely Aspinal of London. These would also make lovely gift ideas especially with that personal touch.

Next on the list are these Boho pair of sandals. I recently found several pairs of sandals in the back of my wardrobe from the last few summers so i’m pretty well stocked for my holiday, however these will just top off my collection, and a girl can never have too many pairs of shoes right!?

Now for the accessories. I came across this gorgeous brand some years ago since the lovely Tara from ‘Tara Osborne Jewellery’ is the girlfriend of a family friend. I have always had my eye on her bracelets and necklaces but have never been big on accessorising. However, this year i’ve decided i’d like some good quality, go to jewellery that I can wear every day. I particularly love the products below for this summer. These colours with a tan!! Sold!

Next I need to up my pyjama game. I love pretty nightwear and until last Christmas when I treated my self to some Joules PJ bottoms i’d never really bothered to get quality pyjamas. It’s life changing stuff let me tell you. I’m joking it’s really not but it makes going to bed so comfy and cosy. God i’ve lost the plot, i’m just trying to justify it. I digress.. but these beauties from Next will be arriving in my cupboard very soon.

Finally, these shorts have been on my ‘to buy’ list for a little while now to add to my Spring/Summer wardrobe. I think they’ll be a great staple item to wear with a t-shirt or knitwear paired with some sandals or perhaps something a little smarter if you wanted to dress them up.

So there it is, this months wish list. Wishing you all a very Happy Sunday and an even happier shopping spree.

Dreaming of Summer

22 degrees I hear you say? That’s right, and the country are already losing their minds (me included). So as I sit on my sun lounger, pimms in hand with a coat, shades and wellies on, I eagerly await the arrival of this much anticipated sun!

All the excitement has got me thinking about my Spring/Summer wardrobe that I’m part way through clearing out and replenishing, where I would like to visit on the few sunny days we will be blessed with this year and what books I would like to get stuck into. I’m usually awful for reading but whenever we get good weather I love nothing more than chilling in the sun for a few hours and getting lost in a book.

Wardrobe Essentials

There seems to be a clear pattern forming in everything that I’ve saved into my wishlist; So I can see my wardrobe being predominately filled with Navy and White with the odd pop of colour. You just can’t beat these classic colours with a tan though.

Navy Bermuda Shorts

Oversized shirts

Navy Wrap dress

Straw Bag (This summers instagram cliche)

Crazy high jute wedges which are too cool!

White embroidered dress

Yellow embroidered top

Bright earrings

Colourful and comfortable sandals (nothing worse than having to curl your toes to keep on a shoe ha!)

Places to visit (U.K based)

  • Stow-on-the-Wold – A small Cotswold market town in the heart of Gloucestershire. My main reason for wanting to visit Stow is not only for the very pretty and instagrammable photographs I’ll get, but I’ve recently discovered a little independent shop through the power of instagram called ‘Meggies’ (@shopmeggies). She sells the most gorgeous little pieces, so I can’t see it benefitting my bank account in any way. Nevertheless it’s a good enough reason for me to go.

  • Blenheim Palace (Oxfordshire) – Yep that’s right I’ve never been. No I don’t live under a rock. Every single Christmas I mean to book tickets to there light show but never get round to it or just completely run out of time, however, it looks amazing all year round and I’m just desperate for a mooch and to explore the gorgeous grounds.
  • Neverland – Fulham Beach – I went to Neverland a few times last year and definitely plan on going again. I loved the atmosphere and how chilled it was. There are several street food stands, two bars and live DJ’s. If the weather is nice it’s a perfect hangout with a big group of friends.

  • Midnight Apothecary (Campfire cocktails in the city) – Relax around a fire pit, indulge in their cocktails infused with ingredients grown in the garden or foraged nearby, cuddle up and watch the sun set over the river and toast marshmallows over the fire. Urm this sounds like Hygge at it’s best!!

Book Recommendations

Finally, I have had all three of the books below recommended to me by friends and have also seen them recommended on instagram. I have to read something gripping or something that I can relate to in some way otherwise I completely lose interest and apparently these books do just that.

  • The Girl Before by JP Delaney

  • The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena

  • The Subtle Art of not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson

I’m not sure if i’ve written that list to benefit myself or you guys.

Anyway, enjoy and make the most of the weather! I will be doing very little other than working in an office (yay great timing sun) but making the most of OUTDOOR after work drinks with the girls.

Happy Sunday!

April Wishlist

Since spending money is one of my greatest talents, I thought I’d start by sharing my monthly wishlist with you throughout the year. Some will be pieces that I actually need, others will be incredibly unrealistic. Perhaps seeing my wishlist on paper will encourage me to wake up and realise I’m not a millionaire (yet). Despite saying to myself at the beginning of the year that I would spend less time online window shopping I haven’t managed to curb this habit. I’m going to justify it by saying scrolling through the Zara app at half 10 at night actually gets me to sleep.

This wishlist will predominantly be filled with fashion and beauty products as we slowly but surely make the transition into spring/summer.

First stop, my addiction to Bobbi Brown continues. I have a handful of products from their skincare range and I am totally obsessed with them so I would like to add to this with the Skin Nourish mask. My friend used hers a few times when she went abroad and said it saved her skin after a day in the sun.

To add to my list of beauty product lusts, is the ‘Babyliss boutique salon waves wand’. I’ve watched a few hair tutorials online where this wand has been used and it gives the perfect beach wave.

Finally this gorgeous palm leaf wash bag (I think I can class this as beauty product) would be perfect for my holiday. At 20×30 cm it’s the perfect size to fit all of your skincare essentials in.

A few months back I decided to have a go at creating a capsule wardrobe. It didn’t go well! However, it did encourage me to buy more timeless pieces. I am far more willing to spend more money if I know something will last me.

A dungaree dress is on the top of my list. I think they are so easy to throw on with most tops/jumpers dependent on the time of year and I just love them with a breton stripe top.

Secondly, I’m desperate for some timeless loafers ideally from Russell and Bromley. Yes it will break the bank however I recall my mum having a few nice pairs and they lasted her YEARS (justified).

Finally these amazing pink trousers (which you’ll find on the shop my style page). I think they are so fun and will add a pop of colour to my wardrobe that I so desperately need. They can be dressed up and down too which is so important to me when buying new bits as i’ll get far more use out of them.

I’m not sure if i’ve finished this post feeling positive and organised, or depressed because I can’t afford any of this until payday!

Happy mooching!
